Whole notes are played on the right side and sharps are played on the left.

Height is 23 inches, 32 strings. The 'A' shaped soundboard is spruce wood decorated with an knotwork rosette.
This fuller sounding Alto has the same range as the Soprano plus an additional 1/2 octave going down to an F (32 strings).
